Hasbro Makes An "Angry Action Figure Collector" Figure???

Yesterday Hasbro held one of their Fan-Friday Live-Stream events with the Marvel Legends brand-team where they debuted a new 6" Marvel Legends figure that has seemingly been dubbed by some now as the "Angry Action Figure Collector" figure

In truth the figure is really based on the Marvel character the Hood.

But during the presentation one of the Hasbro guys joked while showing the first image above saying it was an angry Marvel Legends collector yelling at them, and from there the memes and photoshopped images like this one took off across the net. I'm not sure who to credit for making this one.

Of course not everyone found the joke to be funny. Some have taken offense to it thinking Hasbro is making light of their frustrations of finding what has become an all to often trend in the hobby of getting their hands on hard to find store exclusives.

There is no doubt that the continued growing trend from toy manufactures to release more and more items as store exclusives at Target and Walmart is frustrating, but all it takes is reading comments on some of these live-streams Hasbro does to see that perhaps some are taking things a bit to far with their anger, and even more so directing their anger at the wrong people. The designers and such you see featured in the live-streams aren't the ones who really determine what gets released where.

Never-the-less, I think for better or worse this particular Hood figure will now famously or perhaps infamously be known as the Angry Action Figure Collector figure. Get yours before the scalpers do.... :/

Nothing new. Hollywood, the music industry and social media have been insulting the consumer for years. Might as well make it uniform throughout all forms of art and entertainment. I'm so numb to it by now. I just do my talking with my dollars. It's a small thing, but at least it's something I can control.

As far as the figure, how ironic that they makethe comments in connection with the figure in the wave that is likely to be overly criticized the most?I defythem to act like it's unwarranted though. The base is okay, though I didn't realize Parker Robbins was Asian, but that hood is an absolute eyesore abomination. The one thing they had to get right for a HOOD figure wasthe freakin' hood, and they fumbled the ball. "You had one job to do!" comes to mind.

Also, is it just me or does this guy resemble Leslie from the Hangover movies?

For those who didn't watched the video, here it is the part when they made the comment...

Jokes have punchlines, this was just mockery.

It was a whole prepared 'bit'in a livestream aimed towards disparaging theaudience that was watching it in real time instead of introducing the figure like the viewers were anticipating.

They should have introduced the hood figure, as the hood, wearing the hood... then a good joke could have been...

"And as an added bonus *remove hood from figure* we present the (insert punchlinehere)."

To the people defending the Hasbro Team members by name, the people that feel insulted have names too.

This is nothing new, they pokedfun at collectors with the Deadpool role-playing head last year. The more I look at it the more the figure reminds me of the guy from Retro Blasting.

Haaaaaa!

Makes since. You'd be hard-pressed to find a collector more critical of Hasbro than that guy.

Thanks for the compliment man. I think that's an idea that I will have to mature first before I decide to go to a talk show kind of podcast... As a matter of fact I gave the idea of livetreaming video talk to a pear of mine that have a Transformers channel for us to talk about the 86 movie and probably other iconic episodes of G1 and even Beast Wars...?????
