not interested in this movie, but just as toys Spin Master did a good job, more detail in the sculpts than i am used to seeing from them. The figures look kinda weird sitting on the dragons. but overall good toys for the movie, and not too expensive? looks like $16 for the sets?
It's weird how they left Toothless much like he is in the CGI animation, but the other Dragons are more realistic now with smaller eyes and more reptiilian heads.
Shown below is a look at the new How To Train Your Dragon Live-Action Movie Toys from Spin Master. Places like our sponsor Entertainment Earth has some new items from the upcoming movie available for pre-order.Dragons & Vikings Assortment
Spin Masters first offering is a collection of fan-favorite dragons and vikings, sold in pairs of one dragon and one rider each, with seven points of articulation. The three options are Gronckle and Fishlegs, Astrid and Deadly Nadder, and, of course, Hiccup and Toothless. Riders can be mounted on top of their dragon companions, and each dragon is made with Real Feel dragon wings, which imagine what dragon wings would feel like in the real world, and approximate real flapping action when moved up and down.Ultimate Plasma Blast ToothlessThe Ultimate Plasma Blast Toothless figure is a larger adaptation of live-action Toothless that boasts a 26-inch wingspanover two feet. This figure can be activated to trigger lights and sounds, which change based on its position as a standing Toothless will make different sounds than when the dragon is flying in a dive-bomb position. Hiccup from Spin Masters Dragons & Viking Assortment is also able to snap into place as a rider on the Ultimate Plasma Blast Toothless for added play potential.
As someone who grew up with the original trilogy (I was 11 when the original came out), These do look really good. And while i didnt own any of the og toys as a kid, these do make me feel a little nostalgic seeing the vikings paired with their dragons. The Gronkle looks a lot cooler than the animation and the new design of the Titan Red Death looks incredibly intimidating! Im not sure if there are many other people in my age group on this site but I feel like kids nowadays, and nostalgic fans like me are gonna appreciate these figures! ??
