Maybe it's something in the water but according to
Deadline, Universal Pictures, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, Sony Pictures, HBO and Netflix will not be attending the San Diego Comic-Con beginning on July 19th.
The no-shows are due to the uncertainty of the WGA strike that has failed to reach a deal with the AMPTP, and SAG-AFTRA and are still negotiating with the studios. The studios decided against planning a major presence in case the actors, as well as the writers, are unwilling to attend.
