NECA Universal Monsters Accessory Sets for Frankenstein and The Mummy Review and Images

This week, we're having a look at the first two Universal Monsters Accessory sets from NECA, for Frankenstein's Monster and The Mummy. Continuing the NECA month, I had those accessory sets on my pile of unopened toys for a while, and it was time to set them free. They come with a cardboard background and end up being pretty great little dioramas.

The Universal Monsters Frankenstein Accessory set comes with Dr. Frankenstein laboratory table, a laboratory cardboard background, a plastic towel to add to it, a piece of white cloth, an alternate bandaged head for the Frankenstein's monster and a flaming torch to scare it (Frankenstein's Monster figure not included). The box art on those accessory sets looks gorgeous, as usual with NECA. I had heard that the table cannot be undone once assembled, and that is very true, the pieces snap together and you'd need to break it in pieces if you want to store it back in the box. It's a pretty great looking table, though! The table and the laboratory background make for a decent diorama, and the extra accessories add nicely to your Frankenstein's Monster figure.




















The Mummy Accessory set is pretty great too, as it includes the long awaited sarcophagus, an Egyptian themed background, and a chest (The Mummy figure not included). When I got the Mummy figure, I kinda wished it came with a sarcophagus, since it had been teased on the pictures... Well, that's how you sell people an extra accessory set! The sarcophagus looks really great, with tons of details in the paint apps. The chest can open in order to store the smaller Egyptian chest that came with the Mummy figure (which hid a scroll).




















The Dracula Accessory set is already out (and on its way!), along with Carfax Abbey version of the Dracula figure (in black and white). I'm looking forward to check those out too!
