It's
Wednesday and you know what that means:
ToyFarce Review!
This week, we're having a look at some
Gargoyles ultimate action figures from
NECA:
Angela and the
Steel Clan Robot. The
Gargoyles line has to be one of my favorite lines these days, and those 2 new figures did not disappoint!
They both come in pretty
big boxes, since both figures have huge wings. The
box art is amazing.
Angela, who we met in the second season of the show, when
Goliath,
Elisa and
Bronx arrived on
Avalon, is the daughter of
Goliath and
Demona (
even if, at first, Goliath kept insisting that the children are children of the whole clan and don't have parents). The figure comes with an
extra face plate (
angry),
2 extra pairs of hands, an
egg and a
baby version of herself (
articulated too!). The figure is similar to the
Demona figure (
her mum!), in terms of articulation. She has great sculpt and paint. The usual main issue with those figures are the
wings being way too wide, but I got a new shelf just for them to solve that. She has a
bendy wire in her pony tail, but the wings are still a bit in the way, so she has to look a bit down so that the hair is on top of the winds (like
Goliath), and cannot look up. The
baby version is very cute, too, for a version of the character that appears for a few seconds during a flashback scene.
The
Steel Clan Robot is a
BEAST. It's big and heavy, with a huge wing span as well (
although the wings can be folded a bit to take less space). The
Steel Clan Robot could be a great army builder, if you have the space. Having a line of those in the background would look pretty awesome. The
Steel Clan Robot comes with
3 extra pairs of hands,
2 gauntlet blasters that can be attached on the robot's forearms, and
3 fire effects to attach to his back and feet to make it look like he's flying. It's a beautiful figure, and I'm looking forward to the
Xanatos version of it (
red, armor version that is not a robot). If I had the space, I'd definitely grab a couple more!
Elisa Maza,
Armored Xanatos and (regular)
David Xanatos are starting to pop up in stores, so hopefully, a review of those should be there soon from
yours truly.
