It's
Wednesday, and you know what that means:
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the
Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi Batman: Arkham Knight - Batman figure from
Kaiyodo. By far, the best
Amazing Yamaguchi Batman figure (which isn't very hard since the last one had a horrible jigsaw puzzle cape), with the usual
Revoltech issues (gaps, limbs popping out,...).
Since the
Arkham Knight figure from over 2 years ago was a great figure (
review here), and the more recent
Catwoman one from that same line was also pretty awesome (
review here), I was looking forward for that
Batman figure, and it didn't disappoint! The
Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi packaging is quite sober, nowadays: Just a grey box with pictures of the figures.
Where are the people that used to complain about Hasbro going plastic-free now??
Batman comes with
3 pairs of hands + a
hand with the zipline launcher, along with different
zipline parts to attach to it,
2 batarangs,
2 data pads (open and closed) with
5 screens to attach to it, and the usual
Revoltech stand. The exclusive version available directly from Kaiyodo had an
extra face plate (
showing teeth), which I think should have been included with the regular version, since it seems pretty low in accessories.
Oh well... The skin tone is a bit on the chin is a bit off, also (
too yellow?)
In terms of articulation, it is your usual
Amazing Yamaguchi figure, which means it doesn't look great in a "
museum pose" but can have awesome, dynamic poses (
with some gaps, and the legs popping out every once in a while...). The figure has a really good
soft goods wired cape, with pleather on the outside. You can pose that cape very nicely when you know what you're doing (
and it will make you feel stupid when you don't...). The figure also has
moving eyes, but I feel like it's a bit of a waste since the '
eye holes' are so tiny, you barely see them. Also, the pupils are just a black dot, while the
Catwoman figure had full painted anime looking eyes. I'd say the moving eyes were not super necessary on this one. The
accessories, even if they are few, are pretty good. The
batarangs look great and the
data pad with the
interchangeable screens is fun.
