It's
Wednesday, and you know what that means:
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the
Batman: Hush Scarecrow and
the Riddler figures from
MAFEX/
Medicom Toys. They both came out relatively close from each other, so I decided to group them.
MAFEX keeps adding awesome figures to that line, even if those two were a bit short in terms of accessories...
Another week, another Scarecrow! Last week, I posted a review of the
Batman: The Animated Series Scarecrow figure from
Mondo, and this week, it's the
Batman: Hush version from
MAFEX (
Is this a sign that I need therapy?!).
Scarecrow didn't appear for long in the Hush comic book, we see him riding
Huntress's bike and get rapidly dealt with by
Batman. It is nice to have him as part of the rogue's gallery of villains for
Batman, still.
Scarecrow comes with
3 heads and
4 pairs of hands, and...
that's it. It does feel a bit low in terms of what you get compared to the price. However, it is still a gorgeous figure, and might be one with the most details on (since all the other ones are either superheroes or villains in tight bodysuits or suits). The
3 head sculpts are really nice, I especially like the one where we can see his mouth screaming through the burlap sack mask. The unmasked head, as ugly as it is, is what it looked like in the book. The extra hands are also great for different kinds of creepy poses. All in all, it's a good
Scarecrow figure, I only wish he had more accessories (
gas effect, removable hat,... Hell, why not Huntress's bike, since he's riding it in the comic book).

The Riddler is one of the aforementioned
figures in a suit. He comes with
2 heads,
7 pairs of hands, his
cane, a
bag of money and a
wad of cash to put in his hand.
That's more like it, in terms of accessories! The Riddler was the secret main villain behind everything in the
Hush comic book (
or the actual main villain in the not-so-great animated movie adaptation. Still trying to wrap my head around why they would do that...). The body is fine (
again, figure in a suit, usually hard to miss), but the
heads are...
not great. There's something off with the nose, which looks more '
pointy' in
Jim Lee's art, while this one seems to have a flatter nose. It's close enough, and obviously, you recognize it's
the Riddler, but the face has bothered me since the promo pics. My figure had a really loose left arm also, which keeps popping off. It is unfortunate, but I'll see if I can figure out something to fix it (or I'll just try to get a replacement).

2 more figures for the
MAFEX Batman: Hush line, and I had a theory that this line was '
copying' the same roster as the
DC Direct Batman: Hush line from the early 2000s, and we're now down to missing only
Ra's Al Ghul,
Commissioner Gordon and
Alfred. Well, after seeing the reveals from
MAFEX at the
Medicom Toy Exhibition last year, I can safely say that I was wrong! There are a ton more figures coming, including
Robin,
Batgirl,
Bruce Wayne,
Clark Kent,
Ra's Al Ghul (
ha!) and more
Batman figures (
Battle damaged and 'Reminiscence Blue'). That
Batman: Hush shelf is going to look pretty crowded once they are all out! The next figure should be
Robin.
