Experience the denizens of Gotham City in all their heroic or hideous glory with Movie Masters figures. These highly detailed figures give you an up-close-and-personal look at the unsettling presentation of Scarecrow and the subtleties of Batman’s suit.
Appearance
Scarecrow is a new figure. The overcoat is new, but I’m not entirely sure if the body underneath is new or not. Underneath the coat Scarecrow is wearing a button up white shirt and blue dress pants which are always hidden unless you’re looking underneath the coat. The overcoat has a lot of sculpted in details and paint wash. The light brown helps all the details stand out, and the coat helps give the body a unique shape. The head sculpt is excellent, with many different textures and paint applications. There is even some brown hair sticking out of the back of the mask, but the mask does not come off.
The proportions are good, and there are no joints sticking out. Scarecrow is a little short compared to DCUC figures though, but fits in fine with the Movie Masters line. Stylistically he does not go well with DCUC figures. The appearance of this figure is pretty straight forward and movie accurate. Overall this figure looks good and fairly realistic. It’s obvious just from looking at the figure that a lot of work went into it.
Articulation
The articulation is standard for this line. The elbows can’t bend 90 degrees, but the head has a nice range of motion. He has knee and torso articulation, but it doesn’t do him a lot of good under the overcoat. The range of motion is decent considering he would never be in hand to hand combat.
Poseability
Balance is ok on this figure. Scarecrow doesn’t really do dynamic poses, he looks silly posed like he’s trying to fight. He’s not a good figure for Batman to fight. Scarecrow will mostly just be standing on the shelf with other figures. Stylistically it will be hard for him to go with a DC collection other than the Movie Masters.
Final Judgment: 6
Scarecrow’s strength is all in his appearance. His articulation is virtually useless though because he’s not a fighter. Despite the excellent sculpt, I don’t think I can give a figure that is so disproportionate in its strengths a score of “excellent”, so Scarecrow is going to get a 6.
