DCUC Series 6 Mr. Miracle

Package Description
As part of a peace pact, Scott Free was raised in an orphanage on the cruel world of Apokolips. Young Scott finally escaped that destiny and made his way to Earth where he was befriended by escape artist Thaddeus Brown, known as Mister Miracle. Under Brown’s tutelage Scott assumed the identity of Mister Miracle and elevated to even greater glory as an entertainment super-escape artist!

Appearance
Mr. Miracle has mostly re-used parts with a few tweaks such as the glove cuffs. The paint on this figure is very clean and doesn’t seem to suffer from some of the problems from previous series. The yellow paint on the face was applied pretty thick so it has a little bit of a shine to it. But this was probably done so Mr. Miracle wouldn’t suffer from a faded yellow color like the classic Superman in this same wave. There’s also a paint wash on the yellow and the red areas, giving Mr. Miracle a very nice textured look. He’s unique in this line for having two different colored paint washed, which helps an otherwise ugly color scheme look as good as other figures in the line.

The proportions are good, and the joints are generally well hidden. The cape helps his upper body not look overly muscular. He doesn’t have a lot of detail in his sculpt compared to other figures because the facial features are obscured by the mask. Mr. Miracle doesn’t look great on display by himself because the colors scheme isn’t very traditional for DC heroes. But he does look great with other figures from this line and with Orion. Overall Mr. Miracle looks good like other figures in this line, but doesn’t stand out from the crowd.

Articulation
The articulation is standard for the line. The head looks up a little ways. His torso can bend forward well, but is blocked by the cape going backward. The cape limits some motion in the legs too, but other than that Mr. Miracle gets full range of motion.

Poseability
Balance is surprisingly good considering the stiff cape on his back. He can do some dynamic poses, but not really good escape artists poses. He looks good in his fighting poses, although not very dynamic. He does look good on the shelf though. Overall, expect the standard poseability from DCUC figures.

Final Judgment: 7
I’m not a fan of the character design, but the figure is well made and put together. He’s a solid choice for a DC collector, but he isn’t really a necessity unless you’re a fan of the character. The colors and lack of detail in the face tend to make Mr. Miracle blend in with the crowd.
