With the release of the Deion Sanders Club Exclusives and the opening of the new store comes nothing but trouble for McFarlane Toys. Not even minutes after the official opening and release of these two exclusive figures came the trouble of overloading servers. After hours of complaining and questioning on what will happen with the new store and exclusive figures comes the awaiting answer from McFarlane's Toys Collector's Club.
Dear McFarlane Toys Collector:
We sincerely apologize for not being able to release the two Deion Sanders Club Exclusives as we originally planned on Monday July 31st. As you may know, our online store began experiencing problems immediately after we released the exclusive figures at around 10:45am ET. At that time, we decided to close the store and discontinue selling the two Deion Sanders figures. No orders have been accepted for these figures at this time and no credit cards have been charged. If you were in the process of checking out when the figures were initially released, your ordering session was terminated when the store was temporarily closed. The two figures remain on display in our online store for informational purposes only -- you cannot add them to your cart.
One thing we now realize is that the demand for some of our Club Exclusives is so great that we can no longer afford to release them in our online store the way we have in the past. Our new online store which just opened on July 18th, was built to handle an increased amount of customer traffic, however not near enough capacity to meet the demand of this Club Exclusive without the addition of even more computer equipment.
As a result we are in the process of formulating our plan to re-release the two Deion Sanders figures using the registration program similar to what we used to release the Jason Varitek/Umpire Club Exclusive last November. In a week or so the registration program will be fully integrated into our new online store and then we will announce specific details on how and when to register for this sale.
We know that a large number of fans have been waiting for the opportunity to purchase the two Club Exclusive Deion Sanders figures for some time now and we apologize to all of those who spent their valuable time online waiting only to be disappointed once again. You will have the opportunity to get these figures when the registration program is up and running, so please stay tuned. We are certain this will prevent future system overloading and allow us to offer exciting club releases without frustration.
