Disney has unveiled a new full-length trailer for their live-action version of "Beauty and the Beast," starring "Harry Potter" actress Emma Watson as Belle and "Downton Abbey" actor Dan Stevens as the Beast.
The cast also includes Luke Evans (as Gaston), Josh Gad (as Le Fou), and Kevin Kline (as Maurice). It also features voice work by Ian McKellen (as Cogsworth, the mantel clock;), Ewan McGregor (as Lumiere, the candelabra), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (as Plumette), Stanley Tucci (as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord), Audra McDonald (as Garderobe, the wardrobe), and finally, Emma Thompson (as Mrs. Potts, the teapot).
The film will also feature new recordings of classic "Beauty and the Beast" songs by Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken and Oscar-winning lyricist Howard Ashman. In addition, several new songs by Menken and Oscar-winning lyricist Tim Rice (The Lion King) have been created and added to the live-action movie.
Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" is a live-action re-telling of the studio's animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. "Beauty and the Beast" is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle's enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast's hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
