I've nearly finished watching The Real Ghostbusters so this news came out at the right time for me. I do hope it does something more "original" with its plot. The previous 3 films carried many similar dangers of ghost summoning by possessing people & I would like to see something more in the creative area as the Real or Extreme episodes of animated Ghostbusters, especially to make up the lack of Egon Spengler.I hope this also means re-releases of the Real Ghostbusters or Extreme Ghostbusters since the DVD's areout of print.

That last crap they pulled must be tossed aside and never be remembered again like it never existed.
Sure that it will not be the same, but if it is set in the OG timeline and has the same characters am up for it.
I can't wait for a real trailer to pop.
My initial reaction was it won't be the same without Harold Ramis but I'm gonna remain cautiously optimistic and hope they do a good job and treat the franchise with respect.
My biggest concern, after first hearing this news, and letting the shock of two decades or more of Dan Aykroyds promises of a third Ghostbusters movie pass, after realizing that this time its legit, was, I hope that theyll still consider Ghostbusters: The Video Game to be canon, and maybe even make a reference or two, to it. Apart from that, Im primed, stoked, and cannot wait to see it!
Hopefully this doesnt follow the same fate of Super Troopers 2. The wide gap and reimagined 2016 film may derail this initiative. Best of luck, especially if they get Dan, Bill, and Ernie back on board.
If they manage to get the original living cast on board then I think this will be good.
Fingers crossed this comes out good and not 20 years too late like most long spaced out sequels.. and with that travesty that came out a year or so ago, it couldnt get any worse.
