Mattel Working On New He-Man TV Series?!?

by Jay Cochran
February 15, 2019
According to THR, Mattel is currently working on 22 animated and live-action TV programs based on its properties. While no specific titles have been mentioned, they note that Mattel considers Barbie, Hot Wheels, Monster High and Masters of the Universe amongst its top toy brands which would be a good indication of where they will put their focus on for these shows.

THR goes on to mention how Mattel has reinvigorated the Masters of the Universe movie project set up at Sony, though honestly we still aren't holding our breath on that one ever actually happening. She-Ra already has a new animated series going on Netflix with a second season going into development very soon, so could He-Man be far behind?

I wonder if the he-man show would be in the same style as She-ra or if it would do something different that would have a more masculine vibe. Ill check it out since Im an og fan.

I mean, Hercules and Xena were all the rage, back in the day... And look at how big Game of Thrones is, nowadays. Swords and Sorcery is where its at, for some folks. Not that I think this will see the light of day, necessarily. But, stranger things have happened.

Wasn't expecting this. I hope this show can be the mostsuccessful He-Man adaptation, especially with the animation productions of today. Hopefully, it'll look something along the lines of the Netflix Castlevania, Thundercats 2011or the 2d animation in the Berserk Golden Age films. Detailed character designsis definitely something needed for this brand to emphasize their vintage manliness.

Hopefully its good. I really enjoyed the 2003 cartoon and the new redesigns were great. I even loved the toy line from it. Hopefully they dont botch it and make it like EVERY other gd new cartoon out now with simplistic designs and stupid humor ala thundercats.
