But thanks for proving my point. A superhero movie full of white folks isn't always a key to a guaranteed smash. Elektra sucked all kinds of hard and it was littered with "non identity politics" entities.
Misha Green is a stellar director. Jurnee Smollet is a stellar actress. Already right there the foundation is set for a potentially good flick.
Meanwhile...you can binge watch Challenge of the Superfriends/JLU if that's your cup of tea and you want people to look a certain way. No one is stopping you.
No doubt another "Elektra" situation. They have a release quota to filland a contractually obligated actress.

The movie stands/falls on its own merits. On the whole it was a good vehicle to Harley and really let her shine (seeing as she was one of the bright spots in SS...Waller and Deadshot being the other two). Was it a quirky flick; sure...yet I walked away feeling it was it was a Harley comic bought to life.
I can deal with valid criticisms of something if it has merits. There is none of that here. Jurnee Smollet did a wonderful job as Black Canary. She has the star power to carry a film (I am quite confident these naysayers haven't seen her in LoveCraft Country or any other films she's been in) and it'd be great to see her back as BC especially with Misha Green at the helm...hell even have Huntress show up and I'll be happy.
What we are seeing here is thinly disguised bigotryfor a character because she's Black. Full stop. That's it. There is nothing more to it. And if they get ether back for their $#!tty opinionsthey cry.

Story and other factors will dictate the merits of the flick, not the ethnicity of the cast.
