Hulu has renewed the adult animated series "Futurama," which hails from 20th Television Animation, for two seasons (seasons 13 and 14) and an additional 20 episodes.
Hulu originally revived the beloved series in 2022 with a 20-episode order. Season 11 premiered on Hulu on July 24th, following a massive presence at San Diego Comic-Con. The season is certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes at 86% and was on Nielsen's Top 10 Original Series List for six weeks during its run. Season 12 is expected to debut on Hulu in 2024.
"Futurama'' premiered in 1999 and quickly gained a faithful following and critical acclaim, including two primetime Emmys for Outstanding Animated Program. Despite its far-future setting, the show is renowned for its satiric commentary on life in the present. The series follows Philip J. Fry (Billy West), a New York City pizza delivery boy, who accidentally freezes himself in 1999 and gets defrosted in the year 3000. In this astonishing New New York, he befriends hard-drinking robot Bender (John DiMaggio) and falls in love with cyclops Leela (Katey Sagal). The trio finds work at the Planet Express Delivery Company, founded by Fry's doddering descendant, Professor Hubert Farnsworth. Together with accountant Hermes Conrad, assistant Amy Wong, and alien lobster Dr. John Zoidberg, they embark on thrilling adventures that take them to every corner of the universe. After its initial run on the Fox Broadcasting Network, a roller-coaster of cancellations and resurrections ensued. Four successful direct-to-DVD releases in 2007-2009 led to the show's rebirth on Comedy Central from 2010-2013. Then, after a brief ten-year freeze in the cryogenic chamber, FUTURAMA emerged triumphantly as a streaming series for Hulu with a 20-episode order.
Season 11 Synopsis: After a brief ten-year hiatus, "Futurama" has sprung triumphantly from the cryogenic tube, its full original cast and satirical spirit intact. The ten all-new episodes of season eleven have something for everyone. New viewers will be able to pick up the series from here. At the same time, long-time fans will recognize payoffs to decades-long mysteries - including developments in the epic love story of Fry and Leela, the mysterious contents of Nibbler's litter box, the secret history of evil Robot Santa, and the whereabouts of Kif and Amy's tadpoles. Meanwhile, there's a new pandemic in town as the crew explores the future of vaccines, bitcoin, cancel culture, and streaming TV.
Season 11 Credits: The series stars John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, and David Herman. "Futurama" was created by Matt Groening and developed by Groening and David X. Cohen. Executive Producers include Groening, Cohen, Ken Keeler, and Claudia Katz.
Futurama is a key pillar of Hulu's Animayhem brand, the sub-brand the streamer launched in July, as Hulu remains the premier adult animation destination. The streamer remains the home to all episodes of fan favorites including Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, American Dad, and so many others. Hulu has long been the top destination for Adult Animation and Anime, with over 20,000 episodes across both genres available to stream.

Im very glad they secured him, the show would be dead on arrival if they didnt. Now to anticipate the 3rd coming of greatness.
DiMaggio is back baby
Last month, Hulu announced a revival to the Matt Groening and David X. Cohens cult animated sci-fi comedy Futurama with a 20-episode order. Unfortunately, voice actor John DiMaggio held off on returning to the show due to a contract conflict. DiMaggio's signature voice role is the foul-mouthed robot Bender and an assortment of other characters.
Hulu announced today that John DiMaggio and Hulu have come to an agreement and DiMaggio will be reprising his signature voice role. DiMaggio released a statement about his return to the show and thanked fans who supported him.
QuoteIM BACK, BABY! So damn grateful for the love and support of fans and colleagues alike during this whole time (especially my wife, Kate), and I cannot wait to get back to work with my Futurama family, DiMaggio said. #Bendergate is officially over, so put it on the back of a shelf behind Xmas decorations, or maybe in that kitchen drawer with all of the other crap you put in there like old unusable crazy glue, or maybe even put it in a jar you save farts in. Whatever floats your boat, I dont care, you get the picture. IM BACK, BABY! BITE MY SHINY METAL ASS!
FUTURAMA focuses on the life of Philip Fry (Billy West), a 25-year-old pizza delivery boy who accidentally freezes himself on December 31, 1999, and wakes up 1,000 years later with a fresh start at life and a "diverse" new group of friends including Leela (Katey Sagal), a tough but lovely one-eyed alien and Bender, a robot who possesses human characteristics and flaws.
