He added, “Although working for DC had been creatively fulfilling, it involved a lot of adversity, challenges, and personal sacrifices — none of which seem to have accrued to any professional benefit. Simply put, the Arrowverse hasn’t led to any other gigs, so it feels — at least on a career level — that I really wasted my time.”

DC in general is a bad bet. If you make it work and profitable for the shareholders than awesome for you. But yeah none of those shows looked worth watching.
Arrow verse wasnt for me, as said above it was cheesy, simplistic soap operas but it still had its moments that time to time paid respect to bigger DC universe, at least it wasnt ashamed of its comic book roots. But weirdly last few MCU projects like Ms. Marvel, Quantummania feel a lot like something that could have been part of CW universe.
The WB arroverse was the worst. Arrow was the best of the shows but even that to me was good for TV. Nothing in the arrowverse Guggenheim and Berlantu made showed they could be on par with cinematic level storytelling like what James Gunn was able to pull off with Guardians. What is strange to me is Guggenheim is actually depressed because he actually believes he's on the same level as the creatives of the mcu (pre Endgame). WB superhero shows are known to be fun cheesy soap opera shows so he severelyoverestimated himself. If anything, the arrowverse ruined his reputation as the shows are getting worse as time goes on. Ratings have dipped lower and lower since the end of Arrow.

Gotham Knights was created by Natalie Abrams, Chad Fiveash, and James Patrick Stotereaux. Greg Berlanti has his name on it as an EP. Guggenheim has zero involvement. He doesn't have anything to do with Superman and Lois, either. Berlanti did that without him. Guggenheim's DC involvement ended with Legends of Tomorrow.
The arrow verse was far from perfect, but it was miles better as a universe on the small screen than the Synder verse. The last crisis event they did (with Routh as KC Supes) was fantastic to me. Im sure the creator will land on his feet. Superman and Lois is at least getting this season and Im sure he created that Gotham knights show.
Waaaaaaaaaah!Guggenheim (and Berlanti) made cheesy soap operas with superheroes in them. I wouldn't call him either.
