"
Honestly, I can't believe my luck this year!" An unexpected twist that left the toy community both stunned and very envious happened this week:
Dave, a toy collector from San Diego ended up being interested in only a few of the
SDCC Exclusive action figures, and it shouldn't be a hassle to get them.
How did he do? ToyFarce investigated...
"
Out of all the SDCC Exclusive action figures this year, I only want a few." explained Dave. "
And I've already ordered most online, like the ones that were on the NECA store! My wishlist this year is surprisingly short. I will not need to ask friends to queue to get something for me as I'm queueing for something else in another booth! SDCC is usually very stressful for me as I'm trying to get my hands on dozens of figures, but this year, it was just 3. It's a miracle!"
The collector community has expressed
mixed reactions to Dave's revelation. Some are skeptical, believing it is just a façade. "
Dave? He always gets tons of figures! I'll believe it when I see his toy shelf next week!". Other collectors, however, are inspired by Dave's newfound wisdom: "
Maybe it's time we all took a page out of Dave's book. Maybe this is the year we learn to appreciate the few, instead of the many".
Dave's peaceful approach to this year's
SDCC has made him an unexpected beacon of hope in a sea of frenzied collectors. Whether this trend will continue in future conventions remains to be seen, but for now, Dave is enjoying a brief respite from the chaotic world of exclusive action figure collector.
