It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review!

This week, we're having a look at the Figura Obscura The Ghost of Christmas Past figure from the Four Horsemen Studios! Continuing with the Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol figures after the awesome Jacob Marley from last year, the Figura Obscura line adds another character for that story, with the first ghost to visit Ebenezer Scrooge, the Ghost of Christmas Past, as a beautiful figure.

The packaging comes with the usual sleeve with magnets, with a nice painting inside to use as a diorama, which is always a nice little bonus with the Figura Obscura line. It also comes with a booklet with more excerpts from the story, along with a holiday card, and a mini Cosmic Legions coloring book. Last year, I speculated we might see more of those, and that the 3 ghosts that visit Scrooge would either be a 3 pack, or maybe a ghost figure with 3 different heads, but I'm glad they did only one at a time. It makes me excited for the next 2 Christmas at least!

The Ghost of Christmas Past is a gorgeous figure. She comes with 3 head sculpts, 2 different hair pieces, a back piece with 2 extra arms, 4 pairs of hands, a sprig of holly, a gold extinguisher, a staff with another extinguisher and a Victorian street lamp with base. There is also a surprise item, but the Four Horsemen Studios kindly asked not to spoil it until December 25, so I will keep it a secret for now (I can show it to you if you ask nicely!).

She is such a great figure, the Four Horsemen Studios really knocked it out of the park with this one. They nailed the 'ever-shifting, fluctuating appearance' with the 4 arms and various head sculpts. The candle extinguisher coming in 2 different forms is a great idea. I really love her crown, with the transparent crystal-like parts. The diorama backdrop, with art by Nate Baertsch, shows Ebenezer Scrooge a night when he had a better time, a party, complete with a few Easter eggs (Jim Preziosi and Jeremy Girard from the Four Horsemen Studios, along with the Mythic Legion Cabal's very own Walter Hagen, among others), which is a very nice touch.

Another fantastic figure from the Figura Obscura line. Looking forward to the next one!

I'd like to add that there was also a Christmas card (from the previous Father Christmas figure), but with a handwritten note inside, wishing me/us a happy holiday, well wishes and gratitude. I know it is not much but I think it's very touching, especially knowing someone at the 4H headquarters had to write it down hundreds (if not thousands?) of times to go with the figures. A huge shout-out to the Four Horsemen Studios for going to extra mile like that, it is really appreciated, and I send you all my best wishes as well!

I think the Anubis/Bastet figures were better, but this is still a great one. Like you said, she didn't sell out like the others did so they could've kept her up longer. She would look even better in a 3pack, featuring herself, the Ghost of Xmas Present and the Ghost of Xmas Yet to Come. They captured that ethereal, ghostly feeling around her. Photographers are gonna have incredible shots from this one!

They posted a bunch of fan pictures of her on their Facebook and people have made her look amazing. I hope they put her back up. I want more and as soon as they took her down (with tons in stock), the price went into triple digits.

While I'm more into the horror themed figures of 4H, this one is absolutely a nice addition and a tempting one after your review. I do second that the creators went all in with all the nice backdrops, the accessories and the design. Huge thanks for this review.

This figure is gorgeous. But I have some quibbles with 4H and the figure, so in the interest of keeping the spirit of Scrooge alive here they are.

Not showing the figure with two arms in some of the photography was just annoying, particularly since they advertise quite clearly that you can display it with four or two. This is definitely true, but the holes in the figure and in the dress make it a less than perfect look. Since I'm not a fan of four arms, I'm still going to go with two, but I wish they had shown us this look before I paid $60 each in a gamble.

They did not sell out of this figure. That's great, but they still pulled the figure out of their store after two weeks. Why? Why not leave it up? They were so slow shipping mine to me that I didn't get it in hand until after they had taken it out of the store. I think I would have ordered a third and fourth one given how nice the box and display are if they had let me.

4H is a nice group of guys but they make really weird decisions.

Now in the spirit of the Ghost of Present, I will reiterate this figure is amazing looking in hand. There is a strong argument this is the best figure they've made (I just wish she had two arms only).
