DEVIL’S DUE PUBLISHING ADDS A SPARK OF DYNAMITE!
New Publishing Imprint Schedule First Release For July
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CHICAGO, IL, March 31, 2004 -- Devil’s Due Publishing has added a new packaging company - Dynamite Entertainment, to their growing roster; and this summer, fans will have a brand-new #1 to look for in comic shops across the country –
Army of Darkness #1! Following successful relationships which have been forged with Udon Entertainment (
Street Fighter) and Dabel Brothers (
The Hedge Knight, Dragon Lance).
Army of Darkness #1 features the creative powers of writer Andy (
Danger Girl) Hartnell) and artist Nick Bradshaw, in addition to cover artists Marc Silvestri, J. Scott Campbell (Jeff’s last non-DC Cover for 3 YEARS!), Ben Templesmith, and a few surprises thrown in along the way. Other Dynamite packaged projects, scheduled for later this year, and also included as part of the overall relationship with Devil’s Due include brand-new projects from such legendary creators as John Byrne and Jim Starlin. The possibilities are ENDLESS!
“I’ve been nothing short of incredibly impressed with what Josh [Blaylock, President of Devil’s Due Publishing] has put together since striking out on his own,” said Nick Barrucci, President of Dynamic Forces. “When we got the license for the comics (as part of the package with our license to do trading cards, lithos and statues), we knew we needed to have a cool publisher release the dynamite series! Now, with the creative teams involved, we’re ready to send
Army of Darkness straight to the top of the sales charts!”
Devil’s Due Publishing has already made significant and bold strides in the comic book industry since becoming an independent publishing entity in January 2004. Already carrying its own line of profitable comic book products, including the G.I. Joe series and Voltron, Devil’s Due Publishing President Josh Blaylock says “
Army of Darkness is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’m psyched that Nick chose us as a packaging partner,” Blaylock said. “Adding legends like John Byrne and Jim Starlin to the list was icing on the cake, and I can’t wait to see what they do. It’s an honor to have them published under my label.”
