In a move that...
didn't really surprise anybody, toy collector Erik has officially
canceled all his holiday plans for 2025 and 2026. The reason?
The avalanche of irresistible toy announcements unveiled at the New York Toy Fair over the weekend.
ToyFarce investigated...
"
When I saw the first pictures popping up on the internet, I knew I was in trouble" confessed Erik referencing to all the
NECA booth pictures that had collectors buzzing on Saturday. But it wasn't just the new
NECA TMNT and
Sesame Street offerings that caught Erik's eye. There was a ton of reveals and announcements over the weekend, from
The Loyal Subjects unveiling their
MASK figures and
My Pet Monster,
Super7 showing off their second wave of
2003 TMNT,
Playmates and their
MMPR Re-Ignition figures,
McFarlane Toys launching a new
DC Super Friends retro line and getting
TMNT,
Mattel's
MOTU/
Thundercats crossover figures,
Hasbro's
Doctor Doom helmet... Yeah, it was a crazy weekend...
and it's still ongoing!
"
Like many collectors, I spent my weekend refreshing my browser/feed to see the latest reveals from the Javits Center in New York. The only collectors that didn't spend their weekend refreshing their browsers/feeds were the people that were actually there, in person." The sheer volume of must-have items led Erik to a drastic decision: "
I tried to do the math. Between the new releases and my current pre-orders list, something had to give. So, I called off all my holiday trips for the next couple of years."
"
We were planning a nice long trip, a summer getaway, but Erik said he'd rather stay home and organize his toys" said a concerned family member. Erik remains unfazed by the reactions: "
Vacations come and go, but awesome limited edition action figures are forever! Plus, with the money I'm saving on travel, I can afford even more additions to my collection!" he stated with a grin. As the year progresses, only time will tell if Erik's sacrifice pays off.

Toy Fair caught your eyes?
