It's
Wednesday and you know what that means:
ToyFarce reviews!
This week, we're having a look at the
DC Multiverse Three Jokers wave from
McFarlane Toys. I have been sitting on that wave for a while, because I was waiting for the third
Joker, the
Gamestop exclusive one, to complete the set. Luckily, a friend of mine managed to get his hands on it (
thanks Ryan!) and now, the wave is
complete!

'
Three Jokers' is a great comic book story arc written by
Geoff Johns with art from
Jason Fabok, and it is pretty much a direct sequel to the classic '
The Killing Joke' by
Alan Moore and
Brian Bolland, with similar art and panels. It follows a story that was teased a few years before, when
Batman got access to all existing knowledge when sitting on the
Mobius chair, and when he asked for the
Joker's true identity, the answer was '
There are three'.

First off, the good guys: This wave has a fantastic
Batman (
aNoThEr BaTmAn?!?),
Red Hood and
Batgirl, which are the 3 main characters of the story. The design is the same as
Jason Fabok's art in the book, and that
Batman is pretty much '
the perfect'
Batman from that
DC Multiverse line. Simple yet efficient design.
Batgirl is also better than the one from the very first wave. Articulations are the usual for that line, and the figures display great.
Batman comes with a
grapple gun,
Red Hood comes with a
crowbar (morbid, much?) and
Batgirl has a
yellow batarang and a
grapple gun.

And now, the best part: the
villains! The
three jokers have a different name to differentiate one from another:
The Clown and
The Criminal were the regular ones in that wave, and
The Comedian was the
Gamestop exclusive.
The Clown has a pink jacket while the other two sport the usual purple.
The Clown comes with a
crowbar and a
laughing fish,
The Criminal comes with a
cane (a thick cane, for...reasons?) and
The Comedian comes with a
camera and a
crowbar (that's a lot of crowbars in this wave!).
