It's
Wednesday and you know what that means:
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at a few
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie items from
NECA:
Shredder's Throne from
TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze (
but not really), as well as a quick look at the elusive
TMNT Ultimate Tatsu figure (
I finally got one!) and the
NYCC 2024 Exclusive Kevin Eastman as the Garbage Man from the first movie. I got all those
NECA items recently (
thanks to their amazing distribution system...), and decided to have fun and check them all at once.
Shredder's Throne from
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze was available on the
NECA online store only for a limited time between July and August 2024, at a rather steep price (
$79.99 + shipping). Since I collect the
NECA TMNT movie figures and I am an idiot completist, I had to grab it,
of course.
Shredder's Throne doesn't appear in the movie, and was only seen on a
trading card from the movie around the time it came out, which makes it a fun '
easter egg' in toy form. The box is pretty massive and has some beautiful art on it. The throne itself is pretty huge too.
There goes my dream of somehow putting it somewhere on NECA's Street Diorama with all the other figures... It comes with a
gas canister and
2 barrels that can be removed and placed anywhere you want, as well as the '
backdrop' parts that need to be attached. It does look very cool, but unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired: the back of the 'backdrop' parts isn't painted, which is a bit strange. Sure, nobody will see it, but still... Also, you have probably heard by now about the fact that
Shredder's feet don't touch the ground when he's sitting in it, which makes him look like a toddler on a chair ("
THEY'RE BABIES?!"). It will still look awesome on the shelf with all the movie figures around it, but for $79,
I feel like it could have been a lot better.

"Are you guys thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Look at me, I am the boss now!"
Tatsu grunts...
The
TMNT Ultimate Tatsu figure had been eluding me since it came out, but luckily, a friend stumbled upon one in his local Walmart and hooked me up (
Thanks, Ryan!). And man, was it worth it! He comes with
2 heads, an
Oni mask,
7 hands, a
kendo stick, a
katana and
sheath, his
fan (
open and closed) and a
crumbled foot soldier mask. He has
soft goods all over and looks amazing. One of the best figures of that line.
Definitely worth the wait!

"What are you doing, you IMBECILES?!"
"Come on, nobody will know..."
"I, Tatsu, now lead..."

"Ew. It's still warm..."
The
NYCC 2024 Exclusive TMNT Kevin Eastman as the Garbage Man figure is also from a deleted scene, where the co-creator of the
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had a cameo as a garbage man. He comes with a
trash bag, a
notepad with doodles of the Ninja turtles on it,
4 pens and a
commemorative manhole cover. A great
convention exclusive, in the sense that it's not mandatory, but fans will definitely want to pick it up, just to have one of the creators of the
TMNT standing on their shelves next to the turtles. My figure has a slight paint problem on one of the eyes, but since the customer service hasn't been able to help me with orders I never got since last summer, I don't have a lot of hope and don't think I will bother...
A very fun figure, still!

"I got a special delivery of more garbage for someone's throne...is that right?"

"There you go..."
All this made me want to watch the 90's movies again, which I am planning to revisit very soon!
More news at 11:00...
Go Ninja, Go Ninja, Go! (Next, Vanilla Ice, pleaaaaase!)
"You call that a trash thone?"
"THRONE BUDDIES!"
